The Crump Bump

Very early in my pregnancy, before there was even a hint of a bump, I checked out any and every maternity clothing store and website I could find. I remember going into the dressing room at Destination Maternity with my sister, Sarah. The stores offer fake bellies that you can velcro around your waist while trying things on to get an idea of how the clothes would look and to make sure they would fit later. We laughed out loud and couldn't believe that I would ever look like that! I was so delighted at what I saw in the mirror and couldn't wait for it to be a real belly. My real belly.

Well, here we are. Real belly in all its glory. Some days it appears and/or feels bigger than others and we still have lots of growing left to do. Every day when I get home from work, Forest comments on how he thinks its gotten bigger from the day before. I know his "Wow! You're HUGE!" comes from such a sweet and innocent place and its always followed with another comment about how beautiful I look, but some days I could just smack him. Ha Ha. To tell you the truth, I completely agree with him. Our sweet little Eli is growing and growing and growing and I wouldn't want it any other way.

Eli's Coming...

In a few short months, our lives will forever be changed. In a few short months, we will begin the biggest adventure of our lives. In a few short months, our prayers will be answered.
Eli Russell Crump will be making his debut sometime in mid to late September. As some of you may know, a biological child was something the world told us we might not ever know. But a child is not this world's business. Its God's business. The sonogram picture that you see here is in a frame on our coffee table. On the frame is the definition of faith. Faith is defined as "belief that is not based on proof." This little picture is a constant reminder that miracles are out of our control and are a gift.
We cannot wait to meet our precious gift and we invite you to join us as we prepare our home and our lives for the arrival of our sweet little boy. It is my hope that this blog will allow us to share pictures and stories for those of you close to home and far away.
P.S. Click the "Eli's Coming: Three Dog Night" link in the top right hand corner. I have this song stuck in my head and find myself singing it constantly. My mom, who will be referred to as "Honey" from this point on has it as the ringtone on her cellphone.
Eli's coming...you better hide your heart.
He's already stolen mine.
